porphyrite: effusive rock composed of phenocrystals of feldspar with porphyric structure with a microcrystalline based paste. The red antique porphyry and green porphyry belong to this category.
porphyry cobbles: porphyry can be cut and assume the form of stones with rounded edges for use in creating external paving.
portico: gallery supported by small pillars or columns open on one side or on both, located generally at the ground floor of a building. It has a repairing and decorative structure.
processing and laying floors: this process includes all the industrial and technical passages which process the material to make the floor and adapt it to the finished work. Laying the floor to the ground is the last stage of the process.
protective treatment: protective treatments are made before and after laying floors in materials which can be submitted to alterations. An example is the wax applied to floors in wood to guarantee shine and beauty over time. Marble is also a material which is usually treated with special protective treatments.
