resistence to corrosion: property of some materials and some rocks to effectively resist the corrosive effect of external factors like water, wind etc. Corrosion causes deformation and decay of the materials. Tiles in resin are typically resistant to corrosion.
restoration: work of repair, renewal for example of a building, a work, a painting. Floors in terracotta, marble or special resins with warm shades are widely used in enhancing renovated environments with an antique ambience.
rustic surface: surface with irregular shades, similar to surfaces worn down over time, it is typical for example in some kinds of porphyry used in floors and in architecture.
sand: sedimentary rock, present for example in ceramics, formed by small fragments of rocks and minerals.
satin surface: surface made opaque, like for e.g. some kinds of stoneware.
